What is the time commitment per week?
On average, you should anticipate 8 to 10 hours per week.
Can the course be taken from anywhere, including outside the US?
Yes. However, the evening live sessions which occur weekly and led by the lead instructors, may be difficult to manage from a time zone significantly different from Eastern Standard Time. While participation in these sessions is not required, it does offer unique access to highly interactive Q&A sessions. All sessions will be recorded and posted afterwards in the online classroom for students to view at any time during the course.
What types of assignments will we be asked to complete?
Several types of assignments will be required. For example: Project based, reviewing of peer work, discussions, reading material, short videos, quizzes, personal reflection, and case studies.
Are there any live sessions or components to this course?
The class will meet online on Wednesday nights at 8PM EST for about an hour. Attendance is not required, but this is the best chance for you to interact with our instructors and ask questions. The sessions will be recorded and posted on Blackboard for you to watch or review at anytime during the course.

While a broad spectrum of individuals from various backgrounds benefit from our course, Digital Marketing Fundamentals is intended as a survey course covering SEO, Search Engine Optimization, Mobile Marketing, Email Marketing, Paid Search, Analytics and Social Marketing. If you are seeking in-depth study in any one of these channels, contact us about upcoming short-courses that will offer a deep dive into each one of these areas. For many individuals, a continuum from introduction, intermediate to advanced study will be required to advance ones digital marketing career.
How has Digital Marketing Fundamentals benefited previous participants?
A number of graduates have reported our course helped them implement work-place projects, gain confidence in their work with colleagues on digital marketing projects, obtain job promotions, and gain first-time employment in the field — or career change. Depending on one’s career objective, further study in the field of digital marketing may be necessary to remain current in a fast-changing marketing field. Are materials included? If yes, will they all be housed on the online site?
Yes, all course materials are included in the price and will be accessed through Blackboard, our online platform.
Is Federal or Institutional Financial Aid available? Also, is tuition remission available for UVM employees?
While this non-credit Certificate does not qualify for federal student grants, loans or University of Vermont scholarships, depending on your home state, this program may qualify for workforce development grants. Contact your State Department of Labor to determine which grants may support individuals seeking education to pursue opportunities for career change. This is a Non-Credit program therefore tuition remission is unavailable for UVM employees. UVM employees may select the 20% discount option available during registration.
The Vermont Legislature designates a certain amount of grant money every year for Vermont residents who want to pursue education or training beyond high school. These grants are administered through the Vermont Student Assistance Corp, (VSAC), and are distributed based on financial need.
The University of Vermont is able to certify VA benefits for the Digital Marketing Fundamentals Certificate program. Can I enroll in this Certificate if I am an out-of-state or international student? Does the tuition rate differ if I am an out-of-state or international student?
Yes! Anyone may enroll in the program. The tuition rate is set at $1695 for all students and does not differ based on a student’s residency. We offer a 20% discount for members of PMI-CV, VBSR, eCommerce Professionals Association, LCRCC or UVM and UVM Medical Center Affiliates and also to groups of 2 or more from the same organization who register at once.
How many Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is this program approved for?
The Digital Marketing Fundamentals Professional Certificate has been approved for 6 CEUs, you must successfully complete the program in order to receive the CEUs. CEUs will be printed on the certification of completion.
What is the payment policy for this program?
All payments must be paid in full two weeks prior to the start of this offering. An attendee will not be allowed to attend this offering if a balance is due. Course enrollments are limited. To reserve your seat, you may pay a $500 deposit, or pay in full by credit card or check when you register. You will receive email reminders if you have a balance due. What is the refund policy for this program?
If you need to cancel your attendance from this offering, you must notify us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 3 days prior to the start date of this offering, to receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. If a medical condition necessitates cancellation/withdrawal (documentation provided), this will be reviewed by our Studies Committee for any type of a refund.
How will I be graded?
You will be assessed on your attendance and participation in class, completion of homework assignments, and comprehension of the course material. Some assignments may be project based, along with online student discussions, and readings. The instructor may also give a quiz periodically to assess comprehension of the material. Students must successfully participate in 70% of the program in order to receive a printed Certificate of Completion. Because this is a non-credit program there is no transcript.
Will I receive a 1098-T for this program?
