George D. Aiken: Statesman from Vermont
Starting at the ripe age of 18, when he became the Master of the Putney Grange, George Aiken proved himself to be a natural leader, and thus began his long career of service to his community, state, and country, culminating in his 34-year tenure as a U.S. Senator. This documentary chronicles the life and times of George Aiken, and the political career that always put what was best for Vermonters first.
“George Aiken was a model legislator who never let partisan politics get in the way of getting the job done. He was a true gentleman.”
Gerald R. Ford, 38th President of the United States.
