Volunteer with OLLI
As a member-run program, OLLI at UVM relies on the talents, skills, and time of members to support its activities and to keep membership costs affordable. Volunteers can have a direct input into the decisions and direction of OLLI, while in turn OLLI benefits from members’ experience, expertise, skills and ideas. Participation as a volunteer deepens connections with other members and provides an opportunity to pursue interests and to develop new skills. Member and instructor volunteers are the heartbeat of OLLI at UVM and are the reason we continue to thrive as a dynamic organization.
Curriculum Committee
Help to develop a stimulating, well-balanced schedule of courses for the fall, spring and summer semesters. Work in partnership with the OLLI Team to identify instructors and topics that will result in a diverse, intellectually stimulating curriculum. Solicit, select and/or review course proposals and edits course descriptions. Review course and instructor evaluations to assess past performance and determine future directions. Recommend program enhancements to improve members’ satisfaction.
Classroom Ambassadors
Meet, greet and check in OLLI members/guests and provide assistance with A/V equipment at first class meeting. Provide feedback to OLLI staff.
Membership Committee
Strengthen connections and assist with recruiting and retaining members. Research and recommend enhanced member benefits. Communicate membership benefits and programs to the greater community via phone, publicity, promotional materials and website information.
Fundraising/Sponsorship Committee
Identify sponsorship opportunities within community. Assist with mailings and promotion of annual donation campaign. Support, plan and implement fundraising efforts.
Special Events Committee
Inspire existing and prospective members to explore the educational, cultural and social opportunities available through OLLI at UVM for special events. Provide onsite support and assistance at member celebrations, OLLI art openings and conference tabling.
