We are looking to hire instructors for our End-of-Life Doula program. We offer the following courses:
- End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate (8 weeks)
- Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate (6 weeks)
- Pediatric End-of-Life Doula Specialist Professional Certificate (4 weeks)
- Grief & Bereavement Specialist Professional Certificate (8 weeks)
*Note: All courses also have a 1-week orientation.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in compassionate care within the field of end-of-life care, palliative care, and/or hospice.
- Applicants must be a graduate of UVM’s course they will be teaching or be willing to take UVM’s that course.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred, but a strong desire to educate and share knowledge in a supportive learning environment is also valued.
- Professional experience in End-of-Life Doula care is required.
- Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and a commitment to UVM’s Our Common Ground values.
- Applicants must disclose any current or past employment with the University of Vermont or if they are a current UVM student.
- All work must be conducted in the U.S., and applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
- A background check will be conducted for successful applicants.
- Applicants must be able to learn and work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating patience and compassion.
- Applicants should understand and respect confidentiality, maintain a positive and calm presence, and be highly organized with attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Time Commitment: Plan to spend at least 15 hours (EOLD/ Grief & Bereavement), 12-15 hours (CAD) or 7.5 hours (Pediatrics) on the course each week (half for co-instruction).
Salary: Compensation is based on current PACE pay rates. As of 4/10/2025, The End of Life Doula Professional Certificate has a 2.5 Credit Hour Equivalency (CHE), which pays an instructor stipend of $6,000. Subject to change.
