Teach English Language Learners abroad or at home.
The University of Vermont’s year-round TEFL/TESOL Training Program provides students with the skills and qualifications they need to succeed as an English teacher at home or abroad. The program is offered in Summer, Fall, and Spring terms.
Our program is a hybrid online and on-campus program. Our curriculum teaches students how to teach English to children, adults, and professionals. Students focus on a variety of TESOL methodologies, classroom disciplinary methods, and choosing which methods work best in a particular classroom. UVM’s program is in alignment with ESL standards for K-12 students and adult learners.
A cornerstone of UVM’s program is the practicum, which provides students with teaching experience with non-native English speakers. The practicum typically takes place on Saturdays, with participants teaching local students who are English language learners. (Schedules may vary per semester.)
This program may be taken for credit or no credit. Contact Janet.Nunziata@uvm.edu (802-656-4680) to discuss which option is best for you. Questions? Call UVM Continuing Education at 800-639-3210 or 802-656-2085.
