Sustainable Fashion I
Section Description
The purpose of this course, Sustainable Fashion, is to expand understanding of the fashion production processes through an environmental and social lens. Students will apply innovation theories to critically explore transdisciplinary sustainable practices, on all levels of the fashion industry. Through local and global economies, a vast perspective will create deeper sustainable fashion innovation.
Section Expectation
By the end of this course, students will grasp past, present, and future sustainable fashion theories. Students will analyze the negative and innovative effects behind fashion production in the following processes: cultivation, yarn and textile manufacturing, textile processing, apparel and accessories manufacturing, retail and merchandising, and fashion waste.
Evaluation
Students will be evaluated on four projects throughout the semester with focused class participation. The course will be evaluated based on attendance, class participation, and four (4) major projects during the semester.
