There is no doubt that 2020 was a stressful year to be a college student (or just about any student for that matter!). UVM junior Brynlee Lutomski found creative ways to de-stress and shares some of her most helpful tips on ways to lower your stress levels.
Cleaning your living environment. You can do that by:
- Making your bed
- Putting away laundry
- Vacuuming
- De-cluttering and organizing loose odds and ends
“Once your room is clean, you feel so much better,” she says. “And you will automatically feel ten times better when you make your bed.”
Stay creative
One of Brynlee’s favorite things to help manage her stress is to paint. Other things like writing, photography or playing music are also good options to de-stress.
Get outside
Feeling stressed out? Go for a walk, take a hike, or strap on some skis or snowshoes.
“I think is one of the most relaxing things to get out the stress is to walk,” she says. “Just stop what you’re doing, tell someone where you’re going, and just go.”
