Section Description

When it comes to protecting the environment, science is not enough. The environmental stories we tell can help educate, or they can confuse. They can empower, or they can disenfranchise. This course teaches how to recognize truthful, powerful environmental reporting, and how to create it.

Section Expectation

Students in this course will report and complete an environmental story designed to make change in the real world, around an issue of their choosing.

The course involves weekly reading and reflection assignments, guest speakers,
classroom discussion, research and reporting, writing, photos/video production, all in service to educating the wider public about crucial environmental issues.

Evaluation

Students are evaluated on class participation and attendance, completion of reading
and reflection assignments, and project work in environmental reporting.
