About BHSC 3420 ZRA

Deals with cells, organs, development, interactions and the functioning (infectious process, immunodeficiency, hypersensitivity reactions, transplantation and tumor immunology) of the innate and the adaptive immune system. Prerequisites: One semester of cell biology or similar course is encouraged.

Section Description

This course will serve as an overview of key concepts in immunology, including cells and functions of the innate and adaptive immune system, antibodies, cytokines, barriers, etc. Additionally, we will explore the role of the immune system (and its therapeutic manipulation) in disease states, e.g. vaccination, allergy, autoimmunity, immune deficiency, and cancer immunotherapy.
