Section Description

This course will be asynchronous; however, students are expected to attend the speaking sessions on Microsoft Teams as indicated in the syllabus. During these sessions, we will practice (orally) the topics covered from the textbook throughout the week. These opportunities will complement the online oral/speaking activities available on the Supersite that you will complete as part of the course. SPAN 1100 (Elementary Spanish I) is the first course in a two-semester sequence of beginning Spanish, designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of the language. The course emphasizes speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Upon completion, students will be able to communicate in Spanish in a realistic and culturally appropriate manner using their newly acquired skills.
