Simran Parwani is a data visualization designer and developer. As a visual journalist at Axios, she creates charts and maps that help readers understand the people, places, and issues being discussed with data. She has produced data visualizations in a range of contexts, tools, and teams, including in former roles at FiveThirtyEight, the U.S. Census Bureau, and NBCUniversal.
She is also passionate about community-building, serving on the Board of Directors for the Data Visualization Society from 2021 to 2023. Simran holds a B.A. in Interactive Media and Computer Science from New York University Abu Dhabi. When not visualizing data, she is probably nerding out about football, reading a fantasy novel, caring for her plants, or walking outside with an iced latte in hand.
