Shannon Dunfey-Konvicka brings over a decade of experience in sales, marketing, and strategic communications across government, tourism, and international sectors. Her career spans business development, stakeholder cultivation, and revenue-driven marketing strategies that have generated measurable results for organizations ranging from state agencies to private sector tourism operations.
As Communications Director for the State of Vermont’s Department of Housing and Community Development, Shannon led crisis communications and policy translation for Vermont’s $1.25 billion ARPA initiative. She specialized in translating complex policy into clear, actionable messaging for diverse audiences including nonprofit partners, state and congressional legislators, and the general public, working directly with agency leaders to enhance transparency and stakeholder engagement.
Previously, as Marketing and Communications Manager for Ski New Hampshire, she developed integrated sales and marketing strategies that positioned New Hampshire as a premier mountain travel destination. She collaborated with the New Hampshire Department of Travel and Tourism Development on statewide marketing initiatives and economic development, managed business-to-government relations, and served as a key liaison between ski area operators and state government. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she managed crisis communications for both Ski New Hampshire and the State of Vermont, ensuring clear messaging and continued operations during unprecedented challenges.
Shannon’s expertise extends internationally, having worked across 26 countries in strategic communications and business development. As founding Chairperson of the International Youth Council for Sail Training International, she delivered keynote addresses to audiences of 2,000+ at conferences including Istanbul, building global partnerships and driving organizational growth.
Beyond her professional sales and marketing experience, Shannon brings authentic teaching expertise to the classroom. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Warren Wilson College and has taught at the elementary, high school, and now higher education levels, bringing real-world industry knowledge combined with proven pedagogical skills to her instruction.
