Kelly has been an active health care professional and educator in the greater Burlington, VT community for 30 years. As a Clinical Associate Professor at UVM, she currently teaches inter-professionally in the Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Program as well as Clinical Education/Practicums, Kinesiology, and an introductory Approaches to Health course for all first year students within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is a Vermont State licensed and nationally board-certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), and nationally board certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
Upon graduating from UVM with a B.S. in Health Education and attaining K-12 educator licensure, Professor Tourville focused her early professional career in sports medicine and practiced clinically as an Athletic Trainer in a multidisciplinary outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation clinic for several years before returning to UVM as a graduate teaching fellow to earn her M.Ed. in Interdisciplinary Design/Education in 2002. She remained at UVM working as an AT with division 1 athletes on the ski, swim, dive, and tennis teams, and went on to become a full time faculty member, Clinical Education Coordinator, and Program Director of the Bachelor of Science Athletic Training Program. Kelly is a strong advocate for supporting others in finding a path that works for them with regard to learning, self-awareness, and individual health and well-being throughout one’s life journey. She most recently collaborated with other Integrative Health faculty and colleagues to help facilitate “Open Source Wellness” at UVM which aims to support employee health and wellness through weekly group Health Coaching sessions for UVM and UVM Medical Center employees.
