Carla Archuletta has extensive experience working with the dying, families of the dying, and the bereaved. She is devoted to normalizing the experience of grief and reducing fears around death through education, compassionate presence, and increased community support.

Carla is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP-S) in the state of Tennessee, a Fellow in Thanatology: Death, Dying, and Bereavement, and a faculty member in the University of Vermont’s End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate Program, where she also earned her certificate. With more than a decade of counseling experience, including work as a hospice grief counselor, she specializes in grief, trauma, oncology-related counseling, serious illness support, and meaning-centered end-of-life education.

Her advanced credentials include National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Grief Informed Professional, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Clinician, EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, and State Approved Supervisor (Tennessee). She is also an active member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA), recognized as NEDA Proficient and After-Death Care Educator Proficient (ADCE).

In addition to her clinical and doula work, Carla is a sought-after speaker, educator, and co-author of Health-Medical Challenges and Grief: Group EMDR Therapy for Patients and Caregivers in EMDR Group Therapy: Emerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond (Springer Publishing).
