About ARTS 1100 C

Introductory study of visual experience through drawing and its transformation of the three-dimensional visual world onto a two-dimensional surface. Emphasis varies with Instructor. Credit not awarded for both ARTS 1100 and ARTS 1011.

Open to degree and PACE students; Fee $95

Section Description

Focus on the fundamentals of observational drawing skill to construct naturalistic and believable composition. Students will acquire the technical and conceptual skills that are fundamentals of the drawing process, while developing their personal vision and creative goals within the field.

Section Expectation

in and out of class work, independent work in sketchbook, group critique, and gallery visits will be among the activities in which all students are expected to participate. Students should expect to spend 4-5 hours a week on coursework outside of class

Sketchbook assignments, outside class work, in class work.
