About NFS 3204 A

Introduces microbiological techniques such as Gram Stain, Streak for Isolation, dilutions, aseptic technique as well as means of identifying the microbial content of food products. Pre/Co-requisite: NFS 3203.

Prereqs: NFS 3203; NFS majors only; Must register for lecture NFS 3203; Lab begins 1st day; ML SCI 257 is in the Carrigan Wing Open to degree and PACE students

Section Description

Laboratory accompanying NFS 203. Hands-on exploration of foodborne bacterial growth, including pathogens, spoilage microbes, and beneficial microbes

Section Expectation

Attendance and participation in lab experiments is required

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated on pre-labs and written lab reports.
