Section Description
こんにちは!ようこそ(Welcome)!
This course is a continuation of JAPN2200. The aim of the course during the first half of the semester is to provide you with the fundamental language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing with a solid understanding of the basic structure of the language and its cultural and social context using Lesson 22 and 23 of Genki II. The second half of the semester will focus on advanced reading skills using Jokyu e no Tobira. There will be an opportunity to work with native speakers of Japanese through the Collaborative Online International Learning between our class and the students from Tottori University, Tottori Japan, as a sister-state project (Tottori Prefecture and the State of Vermont became sister states in 2018!).
Textbook and Workbook: 3rd Edition of Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese II (last two chapters) and TOBIRA: Gateway to Advanced Japanese (https://www.9640.jp/nihongo/en/detail/?447, ISBN 978-4-87424-447-0 C0081). We request students to get the PAPER version of the textbook and the workbook.
Please contact me if you have any questions at Kazuko.Suzuki@uvm.edu. I look forward to having you all in my class!!!
