Section Description

This introductory course explores the foundation of sustainability and responsible event planning with a focus on community-based and nonprofit events. Students will learn how events can serve as a powerful tool for community engagement, education, advocacy, and social change when planned through the lens of environmental stewardship, social equity, and ethical responsibility.
This course is designed for first-year students interested in event planning, nonprofit work, sustainability, community development or public service.

Evaluation

Student learning will be assessed through participation in discussion boards, successful completion of course modules, quizzes, reflective assignments, and a culminating final project.
