Section Description
This course will explore the translation of science into decision-making through foundational assessment frameworks, and topical assessments dealing with climate resilience and environmental justice. Students will learn how to evaluate, quantify, and communicate environmental impacts while addressing uncertainty, equity, and the integration of policy considerations. Through case studies, discussions, and data-driven exercises, the course examines current challenges with an emphasis on interdisciplinary problem-solving, systems thinking, and critical evaluation of both regulatory and scientific approaches. By the end of the course, students will be able to design and critique environmental assessments, interpret risk and impact data, and apply technical and ethical reasoning to real-world environmental management and policy decisions.
