Section Description

This online course introduces drawing and several artistic techniques. Drawing will be examined through class projects, looking at artist works, and through reading and discussion. This is a foundation-level course, so no prior drawing experience is required. However, students benefit from a willing and curious attitude in regard to their learning process, and will do better in this course. As this is a shortened 4-week class, students should expect to spend at least 25 hours per week working on course materials.

Section Expectation

This is a skills-based course, and much of the content builds on previous assignments. You will have two weekly deadlines, and you will be expected to keep up with work assigned in this course each week. As this is an online course, you can work when you want each week, but the deadlines are time-based and required. Sketchbook and portfolio assignments will be graded as submitted. Criteria for assignments and projects will be communicated. You will be required to write a self-assessment for the final.
