Section Description

CREATIVE AUDIO SHORTS is an introduction to creative audio storytelling. In this course, we will explore the art of short-form audio through creative exercises, careful listening, discussions, and play. Think short story class meets podcasting class. Throughout the semester, students will produce several 3-minute audio stories for their portfolios. Students will learn how to use professional audio recorders and audio editing software, conduct interviews, record audio "scenes," and think creatively about structure and writing. Love podcasts? Want to experiment with sound as a medium? Want to play and be pushed creatively? This is the course for you! No previous experience necessary. The focus is on experimentation, falling in love with sound, and developing our tastes and creative practice as audio story makers. Visit the section URL for more info and examples of what you can create!
