Section Description
This is an introductory skill-based course in two separate topics, to be covered sequentially. Cellphone based photography will be explored for the first half of the course with Professor McDowell, and material color (making pigments and dyes) explorations the second half, with Professor Fraser. Students will increase their knowledge of form, technique, terminology, historical and contemporary ideas and dialogues. Prerequisite: none. Fees: none
Section Expectation
In addition to studio work, students are expected to learn about related disciplinary content via reading and lectures; then relate to their studio work and be able to discuss in class. Per University policy regarding work required for a one-credit hour course, a minimum of three hours a week of work is expected outside of class.
Evaluation
Work is evaluated on based on experimentation, analysis, diligence, and clarity.
