Section Description
The course focuses on various metaphysical issues relating to time.
1. What is the nature of time? Is the present an objectively special time?
2. Is time travel possible?
3. What does it take for an everyday object to persist through time? Can two objects occupy the same space at the same time?
4. What does it take for a person to persist through time? If doctors switched your brain and mine, which resulting person would be me? Is it possible for a person to undergo fission so that one person becomes two?
