Section Description

What do; alien hand syndrome, believing you are a werewolf, and believing you are dead have in common? They are actual behaviors that can be related to malfunctioning brain systems. In this course we use case studies to investigate neuroscience and how the brain functions under normal as well as under these very divergent circumstances. This is a fun way to explore neuroscience.

Section Expectation

Class attendance is mandatory. We will do about 19 case studies and then a class presentation. Although there are no tests per se-this class has a lot of writing.

Evaluation

Case studies and class participation make up 50 percent of the grade. A class presentation and a take-home final make up the rest.
