Section Description

An introduction to Geography from global, regional, and place-based perspectives. The course examines social and environmental transformations that arise from the complex interactions between natural systems and human activities. More generally, the course encourages students to “think geographically” and critically about global processes by applying a regional approach that focuses on several world regions and their social, political, and environmental connections. The thematic approach covers several key issues, including: globalization, migration, climate change, and social and environmental justice.

Evaluation

Assessment includes exams, quizzes, and short writing assignments. There is no required text to purchase for this course. All readings will be made freely available on Brightspace.
