About EDHI 6230 OL1
In-depth overview of the pedagogy of teaching in higher education. Evidence-based research findings that inform teaching will be explored. The frameworks of High Impact Educational Practices, Universal Design for Learning, as well as Backward Design will scaffold the participant's design of a course syllabus, course learning activities, and student assessments.

Section Description
Teaching and Learning in Higher Education: This course is an in-depth overview of the pedagogy of teaching in higher education. Research and evidence-based practice that inform teaching will be explored. The frameworks of High Impact Educational Practices, Universal Design for Learning, as well as Backward Design will scaffold the participant’s design of a course syllabus, course learning activities, and student assessments. This course will prepare students to attend to the learning needs of diverse student populations, examine pedagogy with a critical lens, while considering instructor and student identity in pedagogical choices to reinforce equity-minded teaching practices.
Section Expectation
Course participants will meet in Microsoft Teams, synchronously, some weeks, but not all. Please contact the instructor for details.
