Section Description
This seminar is dedicated to reading, discussing and writing about academic research in economics. Much of the research we will study involves the formulation and testing of hypotheses using economic data and econometric tools. We will carry out econometric exercises in class. As such, econometrics is a prerequisite for the course.
Section Expectation
This course is a seminar format. Students should expect to spend 6-8 hours a week on coursework outside of class, with additional time for the semester-long term paper.
Evaluation
Class participation, including presentation and discussion of articles is required. There will be several homework assignments. Finally, each student will write a term paper that demonstrates advanced understanding of economics.
