About POLS 2400 A
Examines varied topics concerning the American political system. May repeat for credit with different content. Topics vary by offering; periodic offering at intervals that may exceed four years. Prerequisite: POLS 1300 or POLS 1013.

Section Description
How do governments try to solve public problems? Who are the key players inside and outside government, and how do they interact? What is the best strategy for getting a policy adopted and implemented successfully? This class addresses these questions in the context of leading public policy conflicts, including climate change, immigration, and gun control.
Section Expectation
Class expectations include: Interactive lecture format with class participation, short writing assignments, midterm and final exam, and a semester long policy analysis conducted as part of a student team.

Exams, class exercises, short assignments and policy analysis.
