Survey of research and theories on child development from conception to adolescence emphasizing experimental analyses of early social and cognitive development. Prerequisite: PSYS 1400.

Section Description
This course provides an introduction to psychological development from infancy through late childhood. We will cover theoretical perspectives, developmental research methods, and core themes of developmental psychology in the areas of biological, cognitive, and social-emotional development, emphasizing their interplay and implications for contemporary issues.
Section Expectation
After completing this course, you will be able to:
1) Define, identify, and describe key scientific concepts, research findings, and theories in developmental psychology, 2) Apply empirical findings in developmental psychology to “real-world” problems, 3) Understand the unique methodological and ethical challenges and potential solutions to conducting research with infants, children, adolescents, and their families.
Evaluation
