About PRNU 1099 A

Examines the impact stress has on disease process, mental health, well-being and professional burnout. Students will explore the science behind evidenced-based stress management strategies and learn easily applied practices that promote provider and patient wellness. Students will leave the course with a self-care toolkit to use with themselves and their patients. Prerequisites: PRNU major.

Section Description

Join Dr. Martin and Dr. Nagle in this hybrid course that only meets in-person on five Mondays and learn strategies that will help you take care of YOUSELF and YOUR PATIENTS. This hybrid course is interactive, evidenced based and fun. There are NO tests or exams, just your engagement and curiosity to learn. In addition to learning the research supporting the efficacy of stress management and wellness strategies, students will learn about and practice a variety of interactive, hands-on stress management and wellness practices including (but not limited to): breathing exercises, meditation, nature and the forest (shirin-yoku), art, music, yoga, cooking for health, culinary medicine, and personal spiritual growth. This course is held online asynchronously with 5 in-person meeting days on Mondays from 1 pm-3 pm.
