About EDLP 2110 A
Examines leadership in all areas of sports. Uses sport as a vehicle to explore leadership theory and aid in developing students' leadership skills. Explores social change theory, investigates sports as a vehicle for change.

Section Description
This course examines the core tenets of leadership required to be succesful in sports and the sports industry. The course spend time examining individual leadership (athletes, coaches, etc.); group leadership (coaches, front offices, etc.); and systems leadership (Leagues, sports cultures, governance groups) to understand all the different styles and types of leadership that effects the sports industry. Students will learn about their own leadership and develop plans to grow. Students will also learn new skills for leading and gain experience through experiential learning. Students will also engage in leadership for change/development leveraging sports as a tool.
Section Expectation
Students are expected to attend class, be actively engaged in discussions, be reflective of leadership practices, and participate in group work
Evaluation
Students will have weekly homework assignments as well as 3 major projects throughout the semester.
