About THE 2110 A
Continuation of Intro to Acting. Development of acting techniques through intensive scene work: refining script analysis and performance skills using contemporary scenes. Prerequisites: THE 1100; minimum Sophomore standing.

Section Description
This is class is designed to broaden, improve and build on the skills learned in Acting I, utilizing in-depth character study, scene analysis, and applied physical techniques in relationship with contemporary dramatic texts. Students will be asked to participate actively in the pursuit of risk-taking and imagination, deepening impulses as they relate to the world of the play and character. This course requires strict attendance and participation which includes time outside of class for rehearsal, reading and reflection.
Section Expectation
This class will be treated as an acting laboratory and students should be prepared to participate in physical exercises, discussions, and group-building exercises as well as learning to give fellow classmates constructive feedback on class work.
Evaluation
Classes will include discussions, readings, acting projects, creative writing, reflections, script and character analysis, and performance critiques. Grades will be based heavily on preparedness and active participation which includes outside rehearsal time with fellow classmates, demonstrated analysis, and completion of readings. Course participation and preparation is evaluated during each class meeting throughout the semester.
