This class is an Asynchronous class that will examine sport as a social institution, emphasizing interrelationships between sport and the social context in which it exists; analyzes functions and dysfunctions of sport in contemporary society.

Section Expectation

This course will explore the relationship between sport and our society. Students in this course will e given the opportunity to discuss we will cover the history of sport and its impact on society. This class will also explore the following topics on how sports have impacted race, gender equity, financial impact of professional sports on communities and today’s impact of college sports.

There is not a book for this class. All materials will be provided.

40% Final paper
