Notes

Open to Degree and PACE students

Section Description

ASCI 1040 is an introductory course in general nutrition designed for ASCI students with little or no previous training. The course is lecture-based addressing the scientific principles of classic nutrition focusing on the six nutrient groups (carbohydrates, fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, and water). The goal of this course is to provide a comprehensive study of nutrients in terms of their availability, function, and utilization in mammalian species. Since all mammals require a similar array of nutrients, this course is taught as a course in Comparative Nutrition of Mammals, not just in Animal Nutrition or Human Nutrition, but both.

Section Expectation
