Section Description

For the first or second year of the Food Systems major; exploration of the Food Systems major; introduction to concentration areas within the Food Systems major; survey of the field exploring academic research in Food Systems. Topics in both the natural and social sciences will be covered to introduce students to the concentration areas within the Food Systems major. (2 credits)

Section Expectation

The course will be broken up into three modules, each with deliverables at the end. Other mini assignments will be due along the way.
Module 1: Getting to know the major and each other.
Assignment: Submit your concentration intentions form

Module 2: Internships, Research, and Getting the Most of your Food Systems major.
Assignment: “Apply” to an internship or for summer research funding

Module 3: Academic planning for your Food Systems major.
Assignment: Submit your Food Systems academic plan
