About PHRM 3000 ZRA
An introduction to the pharmacology underlying recreational and medicinal uses of Cannabis. Focuses on Cannabis taxonomy, chemistry of cannabinoids, physiological effects, and emerging therapeutic applications. Discusses historical, political and socio-economic influences on medical marijuana legislation. Prerequisite: Introductory Biology and Chemistry courses; organic chemistry or PHRM 3010 recommended.

Prereqs: BCOR 2500 or NSCI 2100 or NSCI 2105 or PHRM 3010; Background in biology and chemistry, or by permission; PACE students only even after level restrictions removed; Degree students register for PHRM 3000 A; Colocated with PHRM 3000 A;

Section Description
The Cannabis plant has an interesting history and recent policy changes have led to an explosion in Cannabis science. Presentations intersperse historical, political, and social bkgrd with advanced scientific concepts in pharmacology & medicine.

4 Exams each worth 20%, Assignment 15%, Participation 5%
