Section Description

This flexible, self-paced pass/fail (graded: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) course. This course offers students the opportunity to earn academic credit through participation in group fitness classes. Designed to accommodate a wide range of interests and schedules, students may choose from over 50 classes on the group fitness schedule, including Yoga, Cycling, Strength Training, Zumba, Barre, Pilates, and virtual options. Whether you're a seasoned group fitness enthusiast seeking an extra credit or a newcomer looking for motivation to explore new formats, this course provides a supportive framework to help you stay active and engaged throughout the semester. To receive credit for a class, students must swipe in at the Fitness Hub prior to the session and actively participate for the full duration of the class.

Section Expectation

Students are responsible for tracking their own attendance and reporting any discrepancies to the instructor within seven days. Credit is awarded for up to two classes per day, with students required to swipe in at the Hub desk prior to each session. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of class formats to enhance their fitness experience.

Evaluation

To earn a passing grade (Satisfactory), students must attend a minimum of 28 group fitness classes during the semester. Alternatively, students may complete 25 classes and submit a short-written reflection assignment and upload their mid and end of semester participation logs. This course is graded solely on physical participation; there are no make-up assignments for missed classes or alternative options for credit.
