Section Description

This course explores the intersection of art and technology in the 21st century and the work of contemporary artists. Students will gain hands-on experience with digital tools while examining their connection to contemporary art movements. Through studio projects, discussions, and critiques, we'll investigate how artists harness digital fabrication, machine learning, and computational processes to create meaningful work. The class will analyze pioneering digital artists alongside conceptual art influences, providing context for students to develop their own creative practice using today's technological landscape.

Section Expectation

Beginners are welcome, there is no expectation that students have worked with design software before taking the class. Students should have an interest in graphic arts and design, and a desire to learn how to work professionally with computer tools.
