Introductory study of visual experience through drawing and its transformation of the three-dimensional visual world onto a two-dimensional surface. Emphasis varies with Instructor. Credit not awarded for both ARTS 1100 and ARTS 1011.

Section Description
Drawing has always been a fundamental part of art making. However, in the last several years drawing has gained credibility as an established method of creating finished artworks. Drawing 001 is an introduction to the methods, materials, and concepts involved in drawing. We will work from observation, research and imagination. A lab fee covers the cost of materials.
Section Expectation
Students should be interested in learning various processes that can create drawings. Students do not need prior drawing experience to participate in this class. Part of the course structure will include critiques in which students will be asked to discuss each other’s projects in conjunction with presenting the their own work.
Evaluation
Evaluation: Completion of assigned projects, participation in critiques, attendance.
