A foundational composition course featuring a sequence of writing, reading, and information literacy assignments. Students learn to write and revise for different rhetorical situations while increasing their mastery of academic conventions. Some sections designed for specific student audiences.

Section Description
Written Expression is an introduction to college level composition. The course is designed to let you practice writing in various styles in order to prepare you for all college writing to come. It will help you hone your writing through in-class assignments, close readings of the work of established writers, and critical discussions of the work of classmates. The class will examine each part of the writing process—brainstorming, exploration, drafting, revising, and polishing—in order to let your work attain all the precision and clarity that an effective essay can offer.
