Section Description
This intermediate language course will explore the diverse Russian-speaking communities of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Siberia. Students at the post-2200 level of Russian will develop practical language skills while learning about the rich histories and cultural traditions of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia (Sakartvelo), the Indigenous populations of Russia, and other Russian-speaking communities.
Instruction will be aimed at students who speak at an Intermediate level (for example, students who completed RUSS 2200, or who have not yet had the opportunity to live or study in a Russian-speaking community); students at a higher level of proficiency may enroll, but should discuss options with the instructor.
