Section Description
This course will introduce fundamental knowledge in regenerative medicine including therapeutic applications of biomaterials, tissue and stem cell engineering, and gene therapy, with emphasis on structure-function relationships of biologic systems. Students will leave with a thorough understanding of true mammalian regeneration, wound healing/repair processes, and medical device milestones as related to human tissue regeneration and repair.
Section Expectation
These concepts will be conveyed in a mixture of assigned readings; interactive lectures; quantitative, descriptive, and computational problem sets; primary literature discussions and reviews; quizzes; and a small-team final project.
Evaluation
Problem sets (20%), Attendance and participation (30%), Final Project (25%), Quizzes and Exams (25%)
