An advanced research seminar designed to introduce students to mixed methods research, which integrate qualitative and quantitative approaches, inquiries, and data collection and analysis strategies into a single study or research project. Prerequisites: EDRM 6110, EDRM 6210. Pre/Co-requisites: EDRM 6110, EDRM 6210.

Section Description
This course is an advanced research seminar designed to introduce students to mixed methods research, which integrate qualitative and quantitative approaches, inquiries, and data collection and analysis strategies into a single study or research project. The course is organized into three learning modules that will: 1) explore conceptual and theoretical foundations of mixed methods research, 2) outline the major research design and analysis strategies that dominate mixed methods research and 3) focus on contemporary application and dissemination of mixed methods research.
Section Expectation
In addition to 3 hours of in class time per week, students are expected to engage in 6-10 hours of reading and course work to prepare for weekly class assignments. There is one required text for the course. Course will combine in person and online weekly class meetings.
Evaluation
Students will be evaluated through a variety of written short bi weekly assignments followed by a final paper that is due in three iterations across the semester.
