About PHIL 2050 A
By engaging a diverse range of philosophical topics, students will work on carefully and responsibly interpreting philosophical texts and critically engaging with the ideas and arguments presented therein. Students will develop their ability to clearly, concisely, and accurately explaining philosophical ideas and arguments, both in speech and in writing. Prerequisite: One course in Philosophy.

Section Description
When you're reading a philosophy paper, do you ever feel lost? When you are participating in a class discussion, do you sometimes feel perplexed? When you're writing a philosophy paper, do you sometimes wonder how to start (or finish)? When you are making revisions, do you struggle to figure out how to implement suggestions? This class aims to help you build your philosophical reading and writing skills. Through engaging a diverse range of philosophical topics, we will work on clearly, concisely, and accurately explaining philosophical ideas and arguments, both in speech and writing. And we will work on carefully and responsibly interpreting philosophical texts and critically engaging with their arguments.
Section Expectation
Over the course of the term, students will be expected to complete weekly reading assignments, participate during in-class activities and discussion, complete a series of shorter homework assignments (roughly one assignment per week), and compose/revise two papers (3-4pgs each).
