About EDHI 1110 A
Expands on fundamental theories and frameworks focused on leadership development, ethics, and social identities. Students will learn how to apply frameworks in a practical way that encourages them to reflect on their own understandings and assumptions. Topics will include assessments, values , ethical dilemmas, and social identities through equity & diversity.

Section Description
Through engaging in this course, students will: Understand leadership as a relational, process-based phenomenon toward the purpose of positive change in organizations and communities; Explore personal strengths, values, and social identities and how these influence our understanding and practice of leadership; Practice effective collaboration and dialogue with diverse others; Develop and articulate a thoughtful personal leadership philosophy.
Section Expectation
Coursework includes class discussion and experiential activities, reading and written reflections, partner/group work, community/field-work activities, and a leadership philosophy project. Some class time will be devoted to community/experiential activities and meeting times will be flexible some weeks. See syllabus for specifics.
Evaluation
Grades are based on successful class preparation and participation, engagement in class discussion and activities/fieldwork, reading completion and comprehension, written assignments, class presentations, and partner/group work.
