Section Description

Overview: This project is a multidisciplinary dance exploration that delves into the ancestral roots of the performers, using movement as a medium to reveal hidden narratives and marginalized historical figures. Through contemporary and traditional dance forms, performers will physically interpret their lineage, embodying stories that have been silenced or overlooked. The work aims to bridge the past and present, fostering a deeper understanding of identity and heritage through the language of movement.
Concept and Inspiration: Ancestral history is often fragmented, lost, or rewritten through time. This project seeks to reclaim these lost narratives by intertwining personal histories with broader cultural and historical contexts. Drawing from oral histories, archival research, and genealogical exploration, dancers will transform their findings into kinetic storytelling. The inspiration comes from the idea that movement carries memory, and through dance, we can access and honor the wisdom of those who came before us.
