About MATH 1224 A
Techniques and applications of integration. An introduction to multi-variable calculus: partial derivatives and double integrals. Prerequisite: MATH 1212 or MATH 1234.
Notes
Prereqs enforced by the system: MATH 1212 or MATH 1234; Open to Degree and PACE students
Section Description
This course is the second part in our two-course applied calculus sequence. Topics include: area between curves, integration by parts, basic differential equations, separation of variables, solving first-order linear differential equations, improper integrals, continuous random variables and probability, functions of several variables, partial derivatives, maxima and minima of multivariable functions, Lagrange multipliers, and double integrals.
Section Expectation
This course is in lecture format. Homework assignment on MyLab Math will be assigned for every section of materials. Students should have knowledge of “Fundamentals of Calculus I” which is the first part of the calculus of functions of one variable before taking this class. Pre-requisite: Math 1212 Fundamentals of Calculus I or Math 1234 Calculus I.
Evaluation
