Overview of microbiology, emphasizing the relationships between the structure, metabolism, and genetics of microorganisms and their roles in nature and in pathogenesis. Prerequisite: One semester chemistry. Not intended for students who have completed BIOL 1400 and BIOL 1450 or equivalent.

Students with BIOL 1400 and 1450 or BCOR 1400 and 1450 should register for MMG 2010; Prereq: 4 hours Chemistry; Must register for an MMG 1650 lab; Additional lab fee: $50.00; PACE students only even after level restrictions removed; Degree students register for MMG 1650 A; Colocated with MMG 1650 A; Total combined enrollment: 142
