Marketing concepts and methods and their applications for community entrepreneurs. Focus on development of marketing plan and its use in guiding business operations. Prerequisite: CDAE 1610 or permission.

Overview In this course, students will apply common marketing concepts techniques to entrepreneurial ventures. Emphasis will be community enterprises, ventures (businesses and other organizations) which contribute to community development, sustainability and well-being. Students will apply marketing techniques and concepts to existing local businesses as well as creating a marketing plan for a venture of their choosing. This is a Sustainability course; you will learn how concepts of sustainability influence how you create and market a business opportunity We will be using MS Teams and Brightspace.

Grading Class participation: 5% Homework and in class assignments: 40 % Exams: 35% (one midterm 15%, one final, 20%) Marketing plan: 20%
