About NFS 1044 A

Nutrition and Food Sciences introduction to the professional field and career opportunities in dietetics, nutrition and food science. Required of all First-Year and transfer students. Fall. Prerequisite: Nutrition and Food Science majors and Dietetics, Nutrition and Food Science majors only, or Instructor permission.

Section Description

Introduction to the professional field and career opportunities in dietetics, nutrition and food science.

Section Expectation

Students must attend class, take notes and then prepare reflective writings on each presenter. Students will also be expected to set weekly professional and personal goals and to also write reflective paper each week on how well they did towards meeting their goals. Students will prepare a academic plan which will identify what courses they will take each semester in order to meet University, College, Departmental and Major requirements.

Evaluation

Students will be graded on the completeness/accuracy of their academic plan, weekly attendance, weekly goal reflection papers as well as weekly reflective papers of presenters/lecture topics.
